CCSS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Each year, CCSS administers a scholarship program which gives out merit-based financial awards for college-bound students from area high schools. In addition to the CCSS scholarship, there are the following scholarships from generous donors offered through CCSS:

College-bound students:

· Dr. Mary Ni Wang Memorial Scholarship

· Henry and Sylvia Wong Scholarship

· Wong Shee Huey Memorial Scholarship

· Mary and Jimmy Lam Scholarship

· Christopher and Florence Poon Scholarship

· Chinese Cultural Society of Stockton Scholarship

Scholarship for a San Joaquin Delta College student transferring to a four year school:

· Ock Sam Huey Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships to college students or students who are college-bound:

Eligibility is restricted to students residing in San Joaquin County who are of Chinese descent. In selecting scholarship recipients, CCSS Scholarship Committee, headed by Dr. Jun Wang , considers the student's academic achievement, leadership skills, extra-curricular activities, and community service in addition to a required written essay. The following scholarships require an autobiographical essay rather than "What Does Chinese Mean to Me?"

Applicants may download the application form from this website. Completed applications along with an official copy of transcript, two letters of recommendation, and the required essay may be sent directly to Scholarship Committee, attention Dr. Jun Wang , Chinese Cultural Society, PO Box 692035 , Stockton CA 95269-2035 by March 1 each year. They can also be submitted to high school counselors on or before March 1.
